About the hidden track.

When "U" is released on iTunes and CDBaby at the beginning of December.

So, I have hidden messages in this final track on the album. It's a strange track but hopefully you'll think it's a fitting coda to the album - a sort of palate cleanser. Originally I was hoping the track would be exclusive to the CD and not available as part of the digital album. It was intended as a thank-you to those people who still buy CDs, bless 'em!

Unfortunately for my plan, it turns out that the way the album submission is done doesn't allow for that sort of tomfoolery. So, the CD DOES IN FACT include the ten tracks that are on the digital album, but the title of the tenth track doesn't appear on the CD cover or on the disc itself. So if you buy the CD and think you've been short-changed, you haven't. It's a bit annoying, but not the end of the world I suppose.

This bonus song (if you can really call it a song) is a short experimental piece that plays with long-debunked myth that Paul McCartney died in a 1969 car crash and was replaced by a look-alike so the public wouldn't find out. This myth grew and it was rumored that the Beatles had hidden messages within their recordings that confirmed this rumor - that Paul was indeed dead. George Martin was well-known for his reverse recording technique. One such the legend is that if you play the "number nine" vocal repetitions (on the Beatles' song Revoultion 9) backwards, it sounds like "turn me on, dead man". It soon transpired that the basis of the original story was simply made up by a writer in a student newspaper in Michigan, one Fred LaBour, who later admitted it - but not before the whole weird story embedded itself in pop culture. Paul McCartney maintains to this day that he's still alive... but who's going to believe the guy who wrote and recorded Mary Had A Little Lamb?
